Brownsville basement plagued by sewage odor
Some Brownsville residents say a foul odor emanating from their laundry room is not caused by their dirty clothes, but by a build up of sewage.
Tenants at the Lott Avenue apartment building say sewage has been collecting in the building basement, creating an unbearable smell.
The Department of Health says it received a complaint back in April, and contacted the building landlord about inspecting it and fixing the problem. According to the building property manager, the problem was caused by a burst pipe, which is currently being repaired.
The DOH says it will send an inspector to the location for further review.
