Fisherman awarded for Sheepshead Bay rescue
A fisherman was awarded for his heroic actions Monday after saving the lives of a mother and her two daughters.
Keith Gorman rescued the family Saturday night after the mother, who drove the car, accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake and drove into the water. Rep. Anthony Weiner awarded Gorman for his heroic rescue.
?My first reaction was to get them out of the water,? says Gorman.
Gorman also attempted to save a man who was shot in the chest and fell into the water at the Venice Marina in August. He dove in and helped the man out, but the man did not survive.
