Bed-Stuy pileup sends 20 to the hospital

A multiple-car crash in Bedford-Stuyvesant sent nearly two dozen people to the hospital Saturday morning.

The accident happened at the intersection of Atlantic and Troy avenues, where the driver of an MTA bus lost control and plowed into at least six cars that were waiting at the light.

Eyewitnesses say the bus then jumped the curb, hit a fence and skidded across the intersection, where it jumped two more curbs and hit an LIRR generator before coming to a stop.

As a result of the crash, 20 people were taken to the hospital.
