Brooklyn man indicted on terrorism charges
A Brooklyn man was indicted Thursday for allegedly supporting a militant group linked to al-Qaida.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York says Betim Kaziu traveled to Pakistan this year to receive training and fight U.S. forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The charges against Kaziu come the same day Najibullah Zazi - a 24-year-old airport shuttle driver who authorities said received explosives and weapons training from al-Qaida during a trip to Pakistan last year - was charged with conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction.
AP wire services were used in this report.
