Voters in Brooklyn and the rest of New York City slowly started trickling into polling stations Tuesday to vote in primary elections.
The main race features New York City Comptroller William Thompson Jr. and Councilman Tony Avella contending for the Democratic spot on the ballot in the city's mayoral race.
Primary elections are also being held for the city's public advocate and comptroller, as well as for several City Council seats in Brooklyn.
In Clinton Hill, incumbent City Councilwoman Letitia James is going against candidates Delia Hunley-Adossa and Medhanie Estiphanos.
Polls will be open across New York City until 9 p.m.
