Authorities gathered at a Brighton Beach Avenue residence Saturday afternoon following reports that a domestic dispute had turned violent.

Police say a man was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, and there may have been a woman remaining inside the home. Neighbors in the area say the two people involved were a couple who fought often. Residents believe the girlfriend left the apartment earlier in the day.

Residents say officers struggled for hours to get the man out of the home.
