Brooklyn residents look to beat the heat
Brooklyn residents looked to beat the heat Monday as temperatures soared to 90 degrees.
The Office of Emergency Management had opened cooling centers throughout the borough and were prepared to take in those people who don't have air conditioning. OEM officials urged residents to take extra care of the elderly and young children.
Residents who had to be outside were urged to slow down, stay out of the sun as much as possible and drink plenty of water.
