Brooklyn family reunited with stolen dog
A Brooklyn family has been reunited with its Siberian husky dog that was stolen in Fort Greene last week after a viewer called News 12 and reported seeing the dog.
Natalie Barrett says her pooch Laika was kidnapped while she and her family were shopping at the Green Grape Gourmet Store on Fulton Street last Friday.
The people who allegedly kidnapped the dog were willing to return it to the Barretts. The dog's owners say they do not intend to press charges.
Following Laika's ordeal, state Assemblyman Joseph Lenol (D) has proposed a bill to make dog theft a felony.
