Cops probe how long corpse lingered in apt.
(AP) - Authorities have found a man's body in hisBrooklyn apartment after neighbors said they complained about arotting stench for months.
Police found James Gayle's corpse Saturday at the Breukelen public housing complex. Officers had been calledto investigate the smell. Police say it appears the 60-year-olddied of natural causes.
New York City Housing Authority spokesman Howard Marder saysofficials are investigating when and how the man died, and recordsof any complaints aren't yet available.
Neighbor Jessie Livingston says she last saw the man in Januaryand began noticing a "horrible" odor in February. She says shecalled the Housing Authority repeatedly since then, but stafferswho responded didn't enter the man's apartment.
