Hundreds of Bed-Stuy residents have united for Community Pride Day in Von King Park.

This is the seventh year the Bed-Stuy Project Re-Generation Organization has held this event, bringing residents together to celebrate their community.

Lamar Bolton spent the afternoon with his nephews, knowing how it can be to grow up on the streets of Bed-Stuy. ?Always try to think positive and try to stay away from negative people,? he says. ?I try to pass that on to my nephews."

Organizers say local businesses in the area helped pitch in to make sure it was a true community event.
