Authorities say an NYPD officer was injured Tuesday afternoon after a car jumped the curb and hit him.

Police say the officer was standing near the intersection of Avenue U and East 34th Street in Marine Park when a vehicle jumped the curb after hitting another car.

The officer was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. Residents who live in the area say Avenue U is a heavily trafficked road.
