Williamsburg residents fearful of street hole
Residents in Williamsburg say it's a horror living near a 40-foot hole.
According to residents, the hole was dug up by the city nearly two years ago at Franklin and Flushing avenues. The city's Department of Design and Construction says it ran into some unexpected problems with the project and is currently coming up with a new design before construction can begin again.
Community activists believe fixing the hole should be the city's priority.
"If this was a private owner, every single agency would have been out here putting violation on violation," says community activist Issac Abraham.
The city expects to begin construction again in the next few weeks.
