Job seekers attend career fair in Fort Greene
A career fair was held in Fort Greene Tuesday morning, attracting some 3,000 job seekers.
People started lining up outside the Brooklyn Academy of Music shortly after 6 a.m. in hopes of filling entry-level and mid-management positions in sectors ranging from retail to health care.
A wide variety of businesses and organizations were represented at the job fair, including T-Mobile, Ikea, the FAA, the U.S. Army and the FDNY.
The event was hosted by EmploymentGuide.com, a free job search Web site that holds three to four job fairs each year in Brooklyn.
The organizers of the job fair hope to help 10,000 people around the country find employment by the end of the year.
