Police: Man who stole from synagogue arrested
Members of the B?nai Avraham synagogue in Brooklyn Heights say a man has been arrested in connection with recent robberies at the synagogue.
The rabbi at the synagogue says good detective work, combined with videos recorded by cameras placed around the building, led to the arrest of a man who allegedly stole the synagogue?s $40,000 Torah in January. According to synagogue members, the same man is responsible for stealing money from the donation collection since June 2008.
Synagogue members believe the man responsible often came to pray at B?nai Avraham. Some believe he was even a beneficiary of synagogue donations.
