Fulton Mall to get face-lift
The Fulton Mall in Downtown Brooklyn will undergo a $15 million face-lift, city officials say.
The first stage will target Albee Square, turning the plaza into public space. Phase two of the project will go toward sprucing up a stretch of Fulton Street down to Adams Street with new sidewalks, bus shelters and lighting.
In the long run, the Fulton Mall is expected to be updated and replenished, but questions have surfaced whether businesses will be prepared for the inconveniences caused by construction.
"We'll get feedback from customers and see how it's gonna look and turnout with the future construction," says Nick Chang, manager of a Modell's Sporting Goods store in the mall.
