Many of the city?s livery cab drivers say that they are being affected by high gas prices more than anyone.Many livery cab companies say they will be forced to consider fare hikes to keep up with the rising costs. Drivers say with current prices, it now costs an average of $65 to $70 a day to fill up vehicles.Some cab drivers say they have been forced to give up their cars and work dispatch services in order to keep money in their wallets.?It affects me a lot,? says Arges Alonzo. ?I?m not a cab driver anymore because the gas is too expensive.?Livery cab drivers hope the city will help them through this crisis by replacing their current livery vehicles with more energy efficient vehicles.
