Teen charged in Bed-Stuy hit-and-run
A 9-year-old is fighting for his life after being hit by a car while crossing Malcolm X Boulevard Tuesday afternoon. According to police, 16-year-old Shyquan Burns slammed into the boy, launching him 25 feet. Akeem Suluki suffered brain, lung and other serious injuries. He is in critical condition at Kings County Hospital.?Within seconds it was like knots the size of grapefruits on the front and back of his head. His eye was swollen and his face was scraped and his little left leg was twisted behind him,? says witness Brandy Scott. Burns allegedly fled the scene and later surrendered to authorities. He?s been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license. He?s scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
