Group stands up against FDNY cuts

A local group stood up against budget cuts and firehouse closures in Brooklyn with a protest Saturday.
Representatives from Latinas Against FDNY Cuts question how much money is being saved by the cuts and closures.
"To close fire companies to save about $8 million a year in a city with 8 million people saves each person about a dollar a year," says Josefina Sanfeliu.
FDNY officials struck back, citing statistics that show a decrease in fire fatalities. Only 95 residents perished in fires last year, the fourth lowest tally in city history.
Protesters insist however that more money, more firefighters and more firehouses mean less destruction and deaths.
