Postal service woes spread through borough
Patrons of the Brownsville Post Office are the latest to step up and complain about problems with postal service in the borough.
More than 500 people have taken part in a letter-writing and petition campaign decrying long waits and poor service at the Brownsville Post Office.
"We need better service," says Eric Fischer, a fired-up supporter of the campaign.
Despite the signatures, some residents do not support the movement.
"Waiting on line in New York City is part of life," says Loretta Denson, a Brownsville customer.
Costumers have suggested a stamp machine to alleviate the long lines, but a Brownsville supervisor says a number of stamp machines have had to be removed from the location after being continuously broken.
A representative for the postal service says the branch is fully staffed and urges costumers to access services through alternative methods such as the Internet.
Similar sentiments of discontent have been expressed by customers at the Kensington and Boerum Hill branches.
