Construction worker killed in on-site accident

Shoddy construction work is being blamed for an accident that took the life of a man at a Glenmore Avenue worksite Wednesday.

A wall collapsed at the site around 10 a.m. A construction worker in its path later died after he was taken to the hospital.

Representatives from the Department of Buildings say the work being done was illegal and should not have been going on. In a recent inspection, officials say they found evidence of sloppy work at the site.

Two other men were also injured in the mishap. A stop-work order has been issued on the construction.
