Teen says he fell through shabby platform onto tracks
The MTA is being called neglectful after a 14-year-old boy claims to have fallen through part of a rotting wooden platform onto train tracks.
Assemblyman Dov Hikind was joined Sunday by the teen and his parents at his Borough Park office. The lawmaker is calling for regular inspections at the Kings Highway Q train stop and other subway stops.
The 14-year-old said he was coming home from school Jan. 30 when the platform gave way, causing him to fall five feet onto the tracks below. The teen said he just barely managed to pull himself to safety as the train came barreling toward him.According to Hikind, the MTA has now nailed a wooden plank on top of the damaged platform.
