Bullet from off-duty cop grazes Mill Basin toddler
A Mill Basin toddler is recovering after police say an off-duty officer accidentally discharged his weapon Thursday, striking the boy in the arm.Authorities say the officer was cleaning his weapon at 600 Mayfair Dr. when it discharged around 3 p.m. The bullet traveled through the second floor to a first-floor apartment, where it struck the 18-month-old in the arm.Officials are calling the boy's injury a "flesh wound," saying he was transported to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in stable condition.
The incident is under investigation.
