It?s estimated 4,000 new Brooklyn voters will head to the polls this election season, many of them young people taking part in the process for the first time.

Some Brooklyn College students say they are spending more time thinking about the presidential campaign than about their classes. Though the campus leans more toward the Democratic side, like the rest of the borough, News 12 Brooklyn found one young Republican that is upset former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is no longer in the race.

Republican or Democrat, experts say the youth vote will matter in ?08. However, many remain apathetic. Brooklyn College student Sal Schneider says he?s too busy with school and his job to pay attention to politics.

Experts say on the Democratic side, younger voters are favoring Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), while older ones are leaning toward Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).
