Residents prepare for upcoming winter storms
With a storm forecasted to hit Thursday and the possibility of another on the way this weekend, residents are making the necessary preparations.
Local hardware stores have seen a rise in the sales of shovels, snow blowers and snow melt. One store recommends that everyone stock up early, before the bad weather hits.
Sprinkling rock salt on blacktops and calcium chloride on sidewalks will help make them less slippery. Residents are encouraged to make sure they have enough food and water at home, and it doesn?t hurt to have an emergency first aid kit handy.
Residents should also check their cars to ensure they have ice scrapers and enough windshield fluid.
