Despite a late start to the season, Brooklyn skaters can now head out on the ice at Wollman Rink in Prospect Park.

A spokesperson from Wollman Rink says it was supposed to open earlier, but weather problems and issues getting the ice ready delayed the process.

Skaters who hit the ice on the first day of the season say Wollman is the perfect place for Brooklyn residents to ice skate. They can?t understand why someone would go to Central Park or Rockefeller Center when they can enjoy skating in their own backyard.
