Neighbor feels dumped on by E. Flatbush trash site
An East Flatbush homeowner complains he's being dumped on by an overflow of trash from a neighboring apartment complex.
Jarvis Moore says the Flatbush Gardens apartments created a swimming-pool size trash site just feet from his New York Avenue home about two years ago. Moore says since then, he's had to deal with debris and mice.
"I've seen the garbage pile up at least eight feet . . . with garbage on the curb," said Moore. "I've seen someone gut their basement and bring their stuff here," he said of illegal dumping.
Moore says he's called the city's 311 helpline, and he understands the tenants need to put their trash somewhere. He says he's just hoping for a hygienic compromise.
A health inspector told News 12 Brooklyn the situation is being monitored.
