Police: Driver backed over curb, killed woman
Police are hunting the hit-and-run driver who killed a woman after she hailed his vehicle in East New York Thursday.
According to police, 54-year-old Eunice Washington, along with her two adult children, hailed the driver at Eldert Lane and Linden Boulevard around 4 a.m. Investigators say a dispute then started between the driver and the family.
Police say the driver reversed onto the curb, struck the victim and then sped off. Washington was pronounced dead at Brookdale University and Medical Center. Her children were not seriously injured.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the burgundy sedan to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
