Tenants: NYCHA apartment floods when it rains
Tenants living in a NYCHA building in the Bronx say their homes flood every time it rains.
Maria Ortiz says water drips down the walls inside her NYCHA-owned apartment on Park Avenue in Morrisania causing flooding. She says water even pours out of the unit's electrical panel.
Ortiz says she has complained to NYCHA several times since June, but has yet to hear back.
Other residents living in the building say they too have experienced flooding issues when it rains.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA, and a spokesperson commented by saying, "Plumbers are investigating the root cause of the leak and will make the necessary repairs as soon as possible."
