NYCLU launches stop-and-frisk app

The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) has launched an Android app to monitor the NYPD's stop-and-frisk policy.
The program will allow users to document encounters with police and alert community members nearby when a street stop is in progress.
According to the NYCLU, police have conducted 600 percent more stop-and-frisk searches since Mayor Michael Bloomberg took office.
The app is available in both English and Spanish.
