Woman critical after SUV jumps curb at BX bus stop
Police say a woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition this morning after a driver lost control of his SUV and jumped a curb.Investigators say the incident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. on White Plains Road. The 27-year-old victim was waiting for her bus at the Bx39 bus stop when an SUV barreled toward her, knocking down signs and striking her.Witnesses say the driver was on the Cross Bronx Expressway trying to make a right onto White Plains Road when he apparently lost control. The woman ended up underneath the vehicle. Both the woman and the 40-year-old driver were taken to Jacobi Medical Center. Their identities have not been released.Police say no criminal charges have been filed in the crash.
