Mother of slain 4-year-old Lloyd Morgan calls for end to senseless murders

The mother of the 4-year-old who was fatally shot in Morrisania addressed the public for the first time since police apprehended two people who they say are connected to the shooting.

Shainne Norman was joined by other mothers who have lost their children when she spoke out about the need to get guns off the streets.

"I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy," Norman says. "I would never wish for somebody to have this pain that me and these women have gone through."

Rondell Pinkerton, 17, has been arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to Lloyd Morgan's death. Police say he admitted to firing a gun, but claims it was in self-defense.

A second man, who was injured in the shooting, is being charged with criminal possession of a weapon and is expected to be arraigned bedside at the hospital.

The funeral for Morgan will be held Wednesday. Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy.
