NYPD reopens 21-year-old murder case
The NYPD has re-released the details of a 21-year-old murder case gone cold in hopes that someone will now come forward.
Police say that the body of baby Hope was found inside a picnic cooler by the Henry Hudson Parkway, south of the Dyckman Toll Plaza, in 1991. They say her hands and feet were tied together.
Detectives traced a can of Coke from the cooler to a distribution center in Hunts Points, but that was a dead end. A man and woman were also seen carrying a cooler near the crime scene days before.
Officials raised money to have the baby girl buried in St. Raymond's Cemetery in The Bronx, and hundreds attended her funeral.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
