Tenants forced from Webb Avenue building return home
All of the tenants who were forced to vacate their Bronx apartment building nearly two months ago have now returned home.
The building at 2400 Webb Ave. was evacuated after the FDNY and the Department of Buildings discovered that the landlord had illegally removed all of its fire escapes as part of a construction project.
Residents in 11 apartments were able to move back in last month, but many had to go to court in order to get their apartments back.
A judge had given the management company a July 31 deadline to replace all 75 fire escapes and correct all safety violations.
