Shoelace Park opens new doors
A Bronx park is officially greeting visitors with a new look. The Parks Department and Bronx River Alliance held a ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier today at Shoelace Park, which runs for a mile along the Bronx River. The revised entrance has a seating area, wooden fence and freshly planted trees. Officials say the project cost more than $1.4 million, most of which were mayoral funds.
