Extreme temperatures cause residents to seek relief from the heat
The Bronx is right in the middle of a fourth heat wave of the summer, and people are dealing with the extreme temperatures in different ways. Some residents tell News 12 The Bronx that the only way that they can keep cool is by staying inside with the air conditioner. Others head to the beach and try to cool down in the water. However, the intense heat waves this summer are causing big sales for shops like Cafe's Homemade Italian Ices. One worker there says, "We're melting, but everyone's coming in for the ices!" This current heat wave is expected to last one more day. City officials say that cooling centers will be open again on Wednesday.
