Family calls for more Harlem River guardrails after son drowns
One Bronx family is calling on the State Parks Department to increase the railing along the Harlem River after their 10-year-old son drowned over the weekend.
Officials say Ebrima Wally jumped over a guardrail before falling into the river, struggling to stay afloat. A wave from a passing boat struck Wally, causing him to go under.
The family hopes more guardrails will be constructed so accidents like Saturday's could be avoided.
