Police are investigating what they believe is a murder and attempted suicide in Parkchester after a boy and baby girl were found dead in their apartment this morning.

Police responded to a 911 call this morning for what seemed like a possible gas leak. Upon entering the apartment, police say they found 5-year-old Trevor Noel Jr. and 4-month-old Lillian Noel unconscious and their 29-year-old mother Lisette Bamanga with her wrists slashed. The children were later pronounced dead.

Neighbors say the father of the children, NYPD officer Trevor Noel, was in the lobby this morning, trying to fight back tears. Bamanga is currently recovering at Jacobi Medical Center.
