Broken elevator causes headaches for Kingsbridge Height residents

Some in Kingsbridge Heights are demanding answers tonight, after they've seen no signs of repair to their broken elevator.
The elevator at 28-25 Claflin Ave. broke down on June 24. It is the only elevator for the more than 80 apartments in the building.
Residents say the broken elevator, down for over a week, forces them to walk up six flights of stairs in the extreme heat.
The building's manager told News 12 The Bronx that repairs are taking longer than usual because the elevator's motor recently caught fire. The manager went on to say that they can expect it to be back up and running by Tuesday morning.
