A proposal for select bus service on the Bx41 line along Webster Avenue is causing an uproar among area business owners.
Officials say select service would benefit 22,000 riders daily and eliminate street parking, which owners fear could force them to close up shop. Officials with the MTA and DOT are meeting today with the Fordham Road Business Improvement District to discuss the plan.
The MTA insists the plan is different from the select bus service in place on Fordham Road because Webster Avenue is wider and has less traffic, allowing for different options.
