A woman is dead after a two-car crash on the southbound side of the Hutchinson River Parkway.

Officials say a 20-year-old man in a Jeep Wrangler hit the median and slammed into a white sedan near the Orchard Beach exit. The collision sent the second vehicle flying into a ravine that separates the parkway from the Bay Plaza Mall.

The 50-year-old woman driving the Sedan was killed, and the other driver is in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center.
