Sinkhole on Eastchester resident's property gets worse with rain
An Eastchester resident says that the sinkhole that has been in front of her home for the past three months keeps getting worse with bad weather. Margaret Shelton, a resident on Tenbroeck Avenue, tells News 12 The Bronx that the sinkhole is over a foot wide and about 3 feet deep. The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), which stopped by earlier today, said that Shelton's broken sewer line is the cause of the sinkhole and that the landlord is responsible for fixing it. DEP workers placed a steel plate over the sinkhole for the time being.
