Methane gas detected at Trump golf course in Ferry Point
Ferry Point residents say they're outraged after high levels of methane gas were detected in test wells surrounding the construction of Donald Trump's new $97 million golf course.
According to the Daily News, tests have shown that since January, air levels contain more than 5 percent of methane at more than a dozen of the wells sitting across the street from residential homes. Neighbors complain they've never been notified about the problem.
The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) says that methane levels at 5-percent or more is enough to make the air explosive.
News 12 reached out to the DEC to see why residents aren't being told about the tests, and to see what precautions they should be taking, but has not yet heard back.
