Bronx dads bring kids to school as part of city initiative

Dads across the city today took part in an initiative to encourage fellow fathers to stay active in their children's lives. The campaign is a joint effort by the Office of Children and Family Services and the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. Organizers say the program is aimed at helping fathers foster strong bonds with their sons and daughters. In Highbridge, dozens of dads walked their kids to school at P.S. 73. One student, Allan Gonzalez, says being with his father makes him feel safe. School administrators say they hope to expand the program to help promote positive father figures in the community.
