No criminal investigation after tractor-trailer hits clinic
Bronx police have decided not to conduct a criminal investigation after a tractor-trailer crashed into a children's clinic.
Crews are reinforcing a wall that collapsed after the tractor-trailer rolled down Elm Place and into the medical office on East 188th Street on Monday. The building porter says he's waiting on the insurance company to assess the damage, but believes it will easily run up to $10,000.
The city's Department of Buildings inspected two apartments affected by the crash and gave tenants the OK to return home.
The driver of the VIM clothing store truck says he put the vehicle in park before getting out and chased it down after realizing that it had started moving.
