A driverless tractor-trailer rolled down Elm Place into a pediatric medical office on E. 188th Street this afternoon.

The driver of a VIM clothing store truck says he parked and got out when he realized it was rolling on its own. Witnesses say the driver chased the truck, which was traveling about 35 mph. He managed to stick his hand in the window to steer the truck, but he again lost control of the vehicle after tripping.

Witnesses say the truck crashed into the seating area of the clinic. The doctor's office was luckily closed in observance of Rosh Hashana. No one besides the driver, who suffered minor scrapes, was injured in the incident.
