3rd robbery linked to man with hypodermic needle
Police have linked a third robbery to a man who they say is threatening his victims with hypodermic needles.
According to the NYPD, the suspect first struck on East Tremont and Castle Hill avenues on Aug. 16, and another time at Roberts Avenue on Sept. 11. They say they've learned of a third victim who was robbed on White Plains and East Gun Hill roads on Sept. 10.
Investigators say that the suspect, who is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 120 pounds, tells his victims that the needle is infected with AIDS. He's made off with jewelry, but no injuries were reported.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
