Mourners say goodbye to bodega worker killed by NYPD

Family and friends gathered today for the wake of 20-year-old Reynaldo Cuevas, who was shot and killed by an NYPD officer responding to a robbery at the store where Cuevas worked.

Cuevas was working at a bodega at 169th Street and Franklin Avenue when it was robbed on Friday. According to police, Cuevas escaped, but ran into the gun of a responding officer who accidentally discharged the weapon.

The family of Cuevas has requested a full investigation into his death. The Bronx District Attorney's Office has granted that request.

Cuevas' body will be flown to the Dominican Republic, where he will be buried.
