Jacobi Medical Center marks Sept. 11 anniversary

Bronx residents, politicians, doctors and nurses all came together at Jacobi Medical Center to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11.
On the morning of the terror attacks, the hospital set up a triage unit in its ambulance bay to help victims, but 156 people from the borough never made it there.
All 156 names are now engraved on a memorial at the hospital. Its designer, Xenia Urban, says she created it in a quiet garden with the family and friends of Bronx victims in mind.
Also in The Bronx, officers of the 49th Precinct held their own ceremony and read aloud the names of the 23 NYPD members who were killed in the line of duty.
