Unkept yard blamed for raccoon, mosquito problem in Wakefield
A Wakefield resident who neighbors say has not cleaned up his yard in years is being blamed for a raccoon and mosquito problem in the community.
When approached by News 12 The Bronx, the homeowner said no one has ever complained to him and that he does not live in the house. He says he comes to check the mail.
Neighbors say the homeowner does live at the residence, which has overgrown grass on all of its sides. They say when they called 311 about the problem, all they received was a pamphlet on how to deal with raccoons.
The homeowner said he plans to do something about the problem tomorrow.
The man, who said his name is Robert, says he will figure out a solution for the yard this week.
