Hutch gas stations offer convenience at a price
Two Bronx gas stations along the Hutchinson River Parkway may offer convenient pumps for drivers, but it comes at a high price.
According to Bronx Councilman Jimmy Vacca, two Citgo stations that sit on land owned by the city Parks Department are committing highway robbery. He says the stations are under contractual agreement to keep prices competitive with others nearby, but that it hasn't been enforced.
Drivers say they don't buy gas at either Citgo stops unless it's an emergency because they know they can spend less money anywhere else.
The Parks Department says it's monitoring the stations and allows them to charge more because fuel is their only source of revenue.
